This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

I so want to see a straw bonnet with a blue ribbon added to this ensemble. Seriously.

From Me:
I wish the seller used a white backdrop - or any color other than black- to make this bodice really stand out. However, the detail shots show some amazing trims.
Teens Era Blouse
From the seller:
Gorgeous high-neck Victorian blouse of black lace over cream net, with a fine cotton lawn lining. Fantastic details like the lacy sleeve flares, the jet-glass beads, the deep V bodice the pleated and ruffled cuffs with little satin bowed bands... This blouse is a delight, and even better, its totally wearable and doesn't require a Scarlett O'Hara waistline!
All measurements taken flat, please double if applicable!
:width-shoulder 16.5"
:length-sleeve 17" (armpit to cuff)
:length-garment 15" (measured down center back)
:width-bust 21"
:width-waist 16"
Condition: Several snags to lace. 3 of the 4 Collar stays are split in half. Minor very even discoloration to net. Hand and machine stitched. Eyelets, top and bottom missing/replaceable.
From Me:
This looks to be late 1900's/early 1910's with a slight edge on the teens era side. I just love the look of this blouse with the hints of lace and the cute little faux button front.
Teens Era Black Beaded Dress
From the seller:
This beautiful Edwardian gown is made from black tulle and is elaborately trimmed with black sequins. It hooks down the side and along the waist to the center back as well as on the shoulder. It has long fitted tulle sleeves banded with ruched ruffles, around the wrists, trimmed with sequins and there's a short flared sleeve trimmed with sequins. Around the bottom are 2 layers of sequined tulle with the finished scalloped edging. The tulle and sequins are excedllent, the lining needs to be removed or replaced. It would be easy just to remove it and wear it over a petticoat, an ivory or pink would be lovely to show the beading. The tulle has a few minor tears in the back where the skirt is fuller. IT measures 29 1/2 inches around the waist, bust is 42, hips are 48, across the back shoulder is 13 inches and it's aboiut 55 1/2 inches long from the shoulder and from the waist is 37 1/2 inches.
From Me:
Early teen's era gown. I do love that the seller put a white sheet beneath the tulle so you can truly see the beauty of the detailed work on this dress. Yay!
Early Edwardian Black Lace Dress
From the seller:
This lovely Victorian gown is made from black lace. The lining is in poor condition and needs to be re-lined, but the lace is in overall excellent shape. The bodice hooks down the back, it has loops of narrow black velvet ribbons and swags of large facketed black beads. IT has dangles with large sequin clusters on the ends across the front and in the pouffs of the sleeves. Over the left breast there are 6 dangles, then 3 just off center on the rigth side and 1 on the far right, it is not evenly spaced which gives an interesting look. The sleeves are puffed on the top, they have beads around the upper arm and a long, pointed lacy flounce below the band of beads. On the back of the sleeves there are loops of the beaded trim and dangles with the cluster of sequins, one is missing on one side. The pointed lace flounces are trimmed with narrow ruched silk chiffon around the edges, the lower sleeves are silk chiffon, banded around the cuffs with black velvet ribbon. It has wider velvet around the bottom edge of the bodice, it makes loops at the center back with the beaded dangles, 1 is missing here as well. There's a small tear in the lace at the center front right under the collar and a seam of the lace is opened on the shoulder. It measures 38 inches around the bust, across the back shoulder is 12 1/2 inches, around the collar is 12 2/3 inches and the waist is 25 1/2, it's about 18 1/2 inches long from the shoulder to lowest point in front. The skirt also needs a new lining, it has a narrow taffeta waistband and a wide silk velveteen ribbon tacked around the waist to tie in back, the velvet is Victorian, but I think added later. It's fuller in the back, falling to a train and has 2 ruffles around the hem trimmed with velvet ribbon in the Greek key pattern. The lace is backed with black chiffon, which is in good condition, it has a ruffle around the bottom edged with a narrow gathered ruffle on the bottom of the hem. The lace has a couple of tears coming down from the damaged waistband, but again, overall in very good condition. It measures 24 1/2 inches around the waist, hips are full, it's 41 inches long in front and 49 1/2 inches long in back. It's one of the fanciest and most interesting I have had in a while, restored, it will be stunning.
From Me:
Unfortunately, the shattering looked to be a bit too much on the back to truly be restored properly. However, this is a lovely dress and an excellent example of dresses worn at the Turn of the 20th Century.

Hi everybody!
I'm back from Ireland. I was there for two weeks and just got back on Thursday. I want to go back already. Ireland was lovely.
Anyway, the shoes! I'm thinking more late 1890's/early 1900's for these beauties. Aren't they fun?
