This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Black late 1890's outfit
From the seller:
This Victorian blouse and skirt are made from black silk taffeta, You might be albe to do something with the skirt, but the blouse is pretty much salvage only. The blouse is being held together with black tull sewn over the whole thing, lots of tears and holes, but it has really pretty sleeves if you wanted to copy them and you could salvage the lace ruffle around the collar and maybe the corded design. The skirt has a knife pleated ruffle around it, but lots of stress tears under the waistband. Other than that there are small scattered holes and some minor splitting mostly on fold lines. You can either cut the skirt from the waist and put a new waistgband on it to wear it or salvage the ruffle and most of the taffeta for doll clothes. It measures 24 inches around the waist, hips are full and it's 39 1/2 inches long, as is, poor condiiton.

From Me:
Based upon the sleeves and the cut of the bodice, I'm guessing this is late 1890's.
