This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

From Me:
I admit, I'm posting this so I can do a link back to my other blog as "research". :-) It's probably WWI era as that cocoon coats were most popular in the late teens - although you still see them in the early 20's, easily.
Oh, so useful to see how simply it is made! And I didn't notice you had other blogs, am now following one :) Also didn't realise you are also in Historical Sew Fortnightly! Small blogosphere :D me too, though I haven't been keeping up lately, must try harder.
ReplyDeleteI've been really bad this year at keeping up. The projects I need to get done just do not line up this year at all with the HSF. I'm also in the Historical Food Fortnightly which is an interesting challenge.
