1920's Black and Red Dress

From the seller:

Super gorgeous antique 1920s RED AND BLACK flapper dress with FABULOUS HEAVY beading , the dress is quite heavy. The outer layer is netting with tons and tons of beads. There's a lining inside. Dress is beaded on both sides and can be worn either side. There are some strands of beads that came loose from a small patch of the beading (see pics) but majority of the beading is intact. A number of small holes in the netting on both sides and some tearing but overall this dress is still wearable in my opinion, if you want to sew up or cut off the hanging bead strands. (shown in pictures above). Or could be used for study/pattern etc...IT IS A DECENT SIZE FOR THIS EAR, IT MEASURES 39 INCHES FROM ARMPIT TO ARMPIT. Really lovely piece of history, Great Gatsby style dress. THIS DRESS IS MUSEUM QUALITY!
Q: I WOULD APPRECIATE SOME FURTHER INFORMATION ON THIS DRESS. IS THE TOP HALF LINED? IS THE BOTTOM UNDERSKIRT AS ORANGE AS IT LOOKS IN THE PICS? IN ONE OF THE PHOTOS IT LOOKS LIKE A LONG ORANGE SASH HANGS DOWN FROM THE WAIST. IT THIS TRUE? AS YOU SAY THIS DRESS IS HEAVY, HOW ARE THE SHOULDERS? AND WHAT IS THE CONDITION OF THE UNDERARMS? DOES IT SMELL MUSTY OR MOLDY? I SINCERELY THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME IN RESPONDING TO MY QUESTIONS. BEST REGARDS,

A: Hi! Thanks for your inquiry. Yes the top is lined. The dress and lining is definitely Red not Orange, it is just the lighting. The shoulders have no tears or armpit stains or bad smells. The dress smells fresh with no mold or mildew scents. There is a Red and Black sash pinned on the side of the dress. Please let me know if you have anymore questions. I usually deal in jewelry, so I am not sure what questions are asked about clothes. I am happy to answer any questions that you might have about the dress. This dress is wonderful! If you can do a bit of repair with the tears it is in truly remarkable condition!

From Me:

Love the beading and colors of this dress! I think this might have to make it to my "must recreate" list.
