This lovely Victorian gown is made from a shimmering silk faille in an iridescent tan. It has a woven petersham with what looks like Thellier Paris on one of the bodices. It has 2 bodices, the first has a pale green silk chiffon panel in front and a shirred chiffon collar. One sleeve has a green chiffon shirred cuff coming from the edge, the other side is missing. The underarm seams of the sleeves and sides were let out a little. The silk lining is excellent, missing a few hooks/eyes and 3 places under the hooks have minor fraying. It measures 35 inches around the bust, waist is 24, across the back is 12 and 21 1/2 inches from the shoulder seam to center front point. The 2nd bodice has an embroidered silk chiffon ruffle around the neckline and cuffs with the chenille trim above the ruffle on the sleeves, it has very slight underarm stains. It measures 35 inches around the bust, waist is 25 1/4, across the back shoulder is 12 1/2 and shoulder to center front point is 18 inches.
The skirt has a pleated front with the gorgeous cheille trim it has a waistband that hooks in back. It's lined with a beautiful pale green silk but the lining is shattering. The skirt has a pleated ruffle underneath the hem, with a narrow knife pleated ruffle in green taffeta and a beautiful lace ruffle under the green. These are all excellent. You really just need to replace the upper skirt lining. The skirt has a tiny opened seam at under the waistband and the center back seam is opened for a bit, some hooks/eyes loose or missing. It measures 26 inches around the waist, hips full and it's 39 3/4 inches long. The fabric is more gorgeous in person than I could capture in photos. Excellent vintage condition.

The evening bodice looks like it might have been trying to mimic the styles of the 18th C - which would have made an awesome fancy dress. Very much 1880's as the fashion plate above shows.
