White Edwardian Blouse

From the seller:

Exquisite 1800's Victorian silk bodice jacket. This piece of antique clothing may have been part of a 2 piece wedding ensemble...at one time it may have been married to a matching skirt. I love the detailed tiny tucks and drawn thread work on the bodice front and jacket back. The tiny tucks also grace the sleeve lengths. Highly puffed sleeves with beautiful designed sleeve cuffs.

High button collar. Cameo is not included. The inner corset lining is polished cotton that buttons up the front. The jacket has hook closure with hand stitched eyes. The following flaws are noted: Tiny rust colored spotting front bodice and left lower sleeve. Silk tears lower sleeves and left back shoulder and lower bodice fronts. There are underarm pads that have protected the jacket from underarm staining. These are stiff and dry...I suggest removing, as they now serve no purpose. This is a beautiful display piece but cannot be worn. This gorgeous 1800's piece of ladies clothing measures as follows :

Bust: 34 inches

Waist: 26 inches

Underarm to lower hemline: 10 inches

Underarm to sleeve end: 17 inches

Just a true Victorian treasure~!

From Me:

Not Victorian but a lovely early Edwardian! Does anyone else see this and hear "Mary Poppins, practically perfect in every way" ?
