Lavender and Pink Leaf Print 1920s Dress

From the seller:

This is so gorgeous! I bought this in a vintage clothing store in the mid-1980's and only wore it a couple times. It has been in storage in a climate-controlled, acid-free environment since about 1988. This is in pristine condition for its age. There are darts all around the drop waist and they are reinforced with some hand-stitching. I bought it this way. The lines around the neck are so incredibly 20's and these pictures don't do it justice. This cotton is really thin and sheer and just beautiful. They just don't make fabric like this anymore.

This is truly an incredible find! It has been very well preserved and cared for. It is approximately a size 6. I don't sew, and am hesitant to post measurements as I don't do those very well.

Please ask any questions before bidding. Remember that pictures are part of the description, and that with any vintage item, it is not brand new. Thank you.

Thank you for the inquiries. Measurements are:
20s lavender floral
Vintage embroidered patch fix in front -
Slight stain on the skirt in back
Shoulder- 14 1/2
Bust- 36
Waist - 36
Hip- 50

From Me:

I love this because the print and even the style looks like something you'd see in the stores today. The waistline of the dress reminds me of this 1920s pattern:

The dress itself appears to be a home sewn garment. Check out the hem!

It has been in storage in a climate-controlled, acid-free environment since about 1988. This is in pristine condition for its age. there is a rip on the seam on one underarm as pictured. Classic 1920's dress - the real thing. So many layers and such wonderful detail. This is one of the most spectacular dresses I have ever seen and it is the real thing!!

thanks for your inquiries. I looked it over carefully for defects - there are vintage repairs in the armpits and a seam is also repairs on the arm that has come loose. This is one of the very best 1920's dresses I have ever seen! A little discoloration around a couple bottom buttons. Added pics. and here are the measurements
Pink crepe dress
Vintage repairs on slight tear in both armpits
Arm to shoulder seam is repaired
Shoulder- 14
Bust- 36
Waist- 35
Hip- 38

From Me:

To me, it looks terracotta, not pink. I love the cut of the dress but not the color. I think I'd redo it in pastels of cream, blue, and pink. Still, it's a perfect example of one of the 1920's day dresses.

Teen's Era Summer Dress

From the seller:

~Gorgeous Dress~

Beautiful Antique c1900 Victorian~Edwardian Dress. This lovely gem is made of a nice white cotton adorned with very fine hand made bobbin lace inserts and beautiful embroidery. The dress closes in the back with very tiny MOP buttons. It is in excellent wearable~displayable condition. There are some loose and scraggly threads. I have not laundered this lovely gem. The photos just do not capture the true charm of this lovely gem. Please enlarge photos for more detail.

Measurements~ Bust~ Arm Pit to Arm Pit 17" Waist ~ 12" (these measurements are side to side flat across) Shoulder to Hem ~ 47.5" Sleeve~12.5"

Please note these measurements are taken on the outside of the garment. It is always best to compare to a garment you own that fits you.

Thanks for looking!

From Me:

I love this one for it's simplicity. It looks like something that would be pretty easy to make up today. That old petticoat trim for the hem, some lace, and then then a tunic for the rest with sleeves. Just cut up the front - for lace-, cut at the waist - for lace-, and then gather is a bit at the front and add some shaping pintucks to the skirt at the front and back. Sew that together and you have this dress!

Probably around 1914/1915.

Stunning Edwardian Lace With Spangles Ballgown

From the seller:

Circa 1880-1900, a lovely Edwardian hand made Tape lace or Battenburg lace bodice and skirt with a Paris label “Mme de Ludinart”. This ensemble came from a museum deaccession.A beautiful bodice with silk roses and velvet leaves, sequins, rhinestones and silk. The skirt has a trained back and has rhinestones . The inner lining is missing. The skirt measures apprx. 26-27” around waist… 44-45” down front and tapers to apprx. 59” at the back. The skirt has some stains..basically this offering has never been laundered and was probably in museum’s coffers for a long time . The skirt is in good condition. The bodice inner pink silk lining is shredded on the inside, pink satin ribbon on the outside is stong and good…lace is good, there is some inner organdy around neckline that needs to be removed...the sequin bit at the front needs to be replaced..as do the V shaped sequin parts on sleeves.. this part had been mounted on organdy… amazing really what went into this gown, so sequin areas need to be replaced, and some plain net under sleeves.. The lady must have been a luminous figure at the balls! My thoughts on this gown are that the main parts of Tape lace are good and strong.. and that is the backbone of the ensemble. It needs work on the lining, sequins on the bodice and cleaned so stains come up. Lace is very good and strong… once this is repaired it would be quite lovely. So a PROJECT, WORK NEEDED.

From Me:

1905 Fashion Plate

I actually think the dress is slightly later than the fashion plate above in it's current style. The spangles in the front and back in that V shape are popular toward the end of the Edwardian era going into the Teen's Era. However, this particular dress also has that pigeon front meaning it's actually transitional.

Edwardian Summer Overdress

From the seller:

~Gorgeous Dress~

Beautiful Antique Edwardian Day/Tea Dress. This lovely gem is made of white cotton adorned with hand made pintucks, very delicate Needle lace. The dress closes in the back with snaps, eye hook closure at the waist. It does have some minor flaws, there are a couple small holes, faint storage spots and there are some missing buttons (as shown). I have not laundered this lovely gem. The photos just do not capture the true charm of this lovely gem. Please enlarge photos for more detail.

Measurements~ Bust= Arm Pit to Arm Pit 14" Waist ~ 11" (these measurements are side to side flat across) Shoulder to Hem ~ 52"

The pigeon front is what really gives away the date of this dress.
