This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Teen's Era Summer Dress
From the seller:
~Gorgeous Dress~
Beautiful Antique c1900 Victorian~Edwardian Dress. This lovely gem is made of a nice white cotton adorned with very fine hand made bobbin lace inserts and beautiful embroidery. The dress closes in the back with very tiny MOP buttons. It is in excellent wearable~displayable condition. There are some loose and scraggly threads. I have not laundered this lovely gem. The photos just do not capture the true charm of this lovely gem. Please enlarge photos for more detail.
Measurements~ Bust~ Arm Pit to Arm Pit 17" Waist ~ 12" (these measurements are side to side flat across) Shoulder to Hem ~ 47.5" Sleeve~12.5"
Please note these measurements are taken on the outside of the garment. It is always best to compare to a garment you own that fits you.
Thanks for looking!
From Me:
I love this one for it's simplicity. It looks like something that would be pretty easy to make up today. That old petticoat trim for the hem, some lace, and then then a tunic for the rest with sleeves. Just cut up the front - for lace-, cut at the waist - for lace-, and then gather is a bit at the front and add some shaping pintucks to the skirt at the front and back. Sew that together and you have this dress!
Probably around 1914/1915.
