This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

1930's Floral Dress
From the seller:
Such a beautiful 30s dress! Likely early to mid 30s as closes on side with press studs rather than zipper
This feels like satin and looks like satin but it does not have a content tag so I am not certain (please ask questions if need be)
Ivory/cream base, stunning, with pink purple and yellow flowers
Front metal zipper, attached ties to cinch the waist
Made by Kamore
Attached bibbing over neckline and partial bust area that forms into a scalloped sleeve overhang, very glamorous
NOTES- Fair vintage condition but has 3 tears each about 2"- two tears are near the tie attachments, one on each side- then one at the front centered between zip and side but at the front, more of a frail tear also a small frail tear near there on the body of the dress,in general has lots of tiny little frail areas and little areas along seams that could do with some reinforcement stitches and a couple of small areas that need mending along seams too-also needs an iron- sold as is
MEASUREMENTS (approx fit medium-maybe a large but please refer to measurements)
Bust 38
Waist 28
Hips 48
Length 58
Lovely, romantic, historical, glam
From Me:
The button front with the flutter sleeve together is unusual but both are common aspects of a 1930's.

Yellow 1930's Dress
From the seller:
dorable vintage dress from the 1930's by June Fox. It is a summer day dress made of a soft handkerchief linen in sunny yellow. Its a shirt dress style with button up the bodice and a patch pocket on each side. The dress has the sweetest brown button details on the collar and pockets. It comes with the original matching belt with brown buckle. The mid-calf length skirt is slim with a single kick pleat in the front.
Condition: excellent, doesn't appear to have been worn, only flaw is a pinhole at the left hip, waist seam untacked in one spot under the belt, and couple tiny faint stains at the back shoulder (see picture)
Measurements:
shoulder-shoulder: 13 1/2"
across bust: 16"
across waist: 13"
across hips: 16"
length: 44"
From Me:
June Fox was a clothing manufacturer from 1922 until 1986. It seems to have been moderately popular in the 1950's. The style of this dress, however, is from about 1936. That kick pleat in the front with the button detail on the bodice is the giveaways for the date.

Late 1920's Dress
From the seller:
Stunning vintage designer dress from Italy, dating from the 1920s-- possibly earlier. Composed of a soft pale canary yellow cotton linen, this dress features elegant embroidery and cutwork down the front, and along the bottom front of the skirt. Lovely, ornate European design. Unusual and eye catching cut at waist. Eyelet lace trim along collar and cuffs of short sleeves. Tag inside neck reads:
EMBROIDERIES LORELLE FOSSI VIA GUICCIARDINI, 10 FIRENZE
Good vintage condition with flaws as noted and photographed. Torn at neck down front as photographer. Some spots, staining throughout as photographed. Loose threads, expected vintage wear etc. Please see photos for condition and details and message with any questions.
Approximate measurements:
Bust: 42"
Waist: 36"
Length: 48.5"
From Me:
Probably very late 1920's if not very early 1930's. The catalog photo below is from 1929. The khaki and green dress has similar lines to this one.

Stunning 1920's Lace Dress
From the seller:
RARE! Not sure what to call the color, ecru or gold? Or maybe this has aged to this color. Lovely trailing flower motif with large lace inserts on to net.
The dress is in nice shape overall given the age and dainty materials. There are a couple holes in the front of the dress, see photos. Comes with a shawl which also has some small holes and a stain (shown) and some other small stains. Shawl could be used to repair dress possibly.
Measured laid flat and doubled
Bust 38, waist 32, 40 Hip, length 47
Shawl 57 x 24.
From Me:
The color is probably from the age of the garment and not the original color. The style is very similar to the Boué Soeurs style - they loved to use lace in the 1920's on all their dresses.
1920's Yellow Sheer Dress
From the seller:
Vintage 1920s sheer chiffon slip dress of mustard yellow with beaded scalloped hemline. Thin shoulder straps with drop waist. Sheer without lining or slip.
condition: excellent
Fits like a small/medium.
✂Measurements✂
bust: up to 36"
waist: 36"
hips: free
length: 51"
✂Measurements taken in inches. For proper fit, compare measurements to a similar garment in your closet.
From Me:
I think this one might have had a beaded top at one point. There is something odd about the waist and it looks like one of those two piece numbers - just missing the top.

1930's Burgundy Dress
From the seller:
This dress is made from velvet and is in great condition, this item has some dirty issues but its not at damaging to the condition of this dress. It has lighter burgundy rope style highlights which also is in great condition. There is a large ribbon on the bottom of this dress along with a smaller one on the chest area. The buttons are still in the back and clasp is working also. The middle piece, rope like , is a belt and still has both pieces of the clasp sewn to the ends!! Wow Amazing!! It was the piece hanging in the back in the pics, that is the woven belt.
The measurements are as follows...13 shoulder to shoulder....15 to armpit to armpit and the total length on this piece is 44" long. The same person/expert at this type of item or things said this was definitely hand made from the 30's...actually said 35 or 36, very smart person in this area she is!!
