Early Edwardian Underdress

Edwardian Era Ivory Cotton Underdress with Lace
and Silk Sleeves


Not sure how this was worn but it is in very good condition. There are a few very light spots at the very bottom that should wash right out. The sleeves are made from silk and the rest is cotton, with valenciennes lace trim. The back closes with hooks and eyes and there is boning at part of the back opening as well as one at each side. May have had a lacy dress worn over it. The back where the hooks and eyes are has silk covering it but the silk edges are not finished off.
Measures: Shoulder to shouder (between the sleeves): 15 1/2"
Length from back of neck to bottom: 55"
Bust about: 30"
Waist about: 28"

This would have been worn beneath a dress. Think of this as would would think of a slip or shell today.

Victorian Black Coat with Red Quilted Lining

Up for auction Antique Victorian Long Black Coat with Velour Appliques. Cranberry colored quilted lining. Lining has small tear (see photo). There is no size on coat. Some measurements are: Legnth (shoulder to floor) 47"; Arm (shoulder to cuff) 19"; Chest (underarm to underarm) 14"; Waist - 11". Coat buttons all the way down. Coat in very nice condition (see photos). There are no tags inside this coat -

Bustle Era Bodice

Please read and understand what's being offered and the terms prior to bidding. Offered for your consideration is this Victorian blouse with ten antique buttons. The blouse is being offered in "as found" (AS IS), estate fresh condition. It hasn't been cleaned or tampered with in any manner. The overall quality and condition of the blouse is poor/fair. This auction is primarily for the old buttons. I have provided several images to give you a fairly good idea as to what's being offered and its overall quality and condition (do consider the images part of the description). In my opinion the images do NOT do these nice old buttons full justice. Each button measures 3/4" across. None of the buttons are marked; they are UNMARKED. Thank you.

It's a shame he didn't provide inside shots. This is a very neat example of a Bustle Era bodice. Look at those sleeves! I'm not entirely sure if it's 1880's or 1870's but I'm leaning to the 1880's side.

White Edwardian Summer Dress - Titanic Era

Beautiful Victorian / Edwardian garden party or tea dress. Appears to be both hand and machine made. It is made of a very fine sheer cotton gauze? material with lovely lace insets. The skirt of the dress has 3 panels. The front second panel is draped in the center and hidden underneath on the sides there are hand loops to gracefully lift the skirt when needed to prevent the hem from getting soiled. The back drapes down into a square. At some point the waist was taken up a bit but the material is there.
In overall very good condition. There is one very faint rust mark on the back panel which can barely be seen and one on the inside of waistline. .There is only one tiny pin hole that I could find at the bottom front panel and a few areas where the stitches at seams have loosened but very slight. Belt not included.
Wonderful dress! Approx. measurement's flat across-Bust. 16.5"=32.5 Waist. 11" =22. Hip.19"=38. Shoulder is not set in so hard to measure 52" long with 3 3/4" hem.

This is the sort of stuff that makes my blood boil. He cut up a wonderful late 18th/early 19th century Coat/Vest (caftan?) and sold it for the parts. This seller is currently doing it again to another piece and has done this in the past. Why take apart what is perfectly fine piece that's not shattered? Yes, this has some repairs but it helps *us* to learn about sewing through the ages. Without those seams, that lining, it's just a wall hanging.

Awesome looking 1890's bodice

Soft silk velvet and satin ladies Victorian bodice with pink check silk lining. Front hook and eye, full puff sleeves. In excellent antique, uncleaned condition. Chest measures 34", waist 24", sleeves 21", length from shoulders 23".

This looks like it might have been a fancy dress bodice. The styling is vaguely similar to Elizabethan in the trim placement -something the late Victorians loved to emulate. Personally, I like it for the collar and the lining. :-)

Early Edwardian Summer Dress

Exquisite Antique Edwardian Era Embroidered Long White Garden Gown With Dense Embroidered Eyelet, Valenciennes Ruffles, and Fine Soutache Work

This garden gown dates to the Edwardian era and is fashioned of white cotton batiste with its bodice lavishly filled in with dense embroidered pinwheels and eyelet work with Valenciennes lace insertion around the neckline. Portions of the lace are further applied in lace ruffles with lace meeting eyelet having dense soutache cording running fully around. The sleeves are in puff form with lace ruffles throughout. A grosgrain belting is at the waistline with a skirting falling with two batiste and lace ruffled areas, the center front of each has a dimensional floral with applied floral lace running throughout, round swirls. Matching pinwheels of embroidery and eyelet trim the sides with a full bell ruffled sweep. The piece hooks closed up the rear, a purple sash encircles the waistline, the only attention this gown needs is some small spots of seam repair to lace ruffles, lace cuff, and to the purple sash which has half come free. Measures 32 inches around the bust, 20 inches around the waist, and 56 inches in its length.

This dress is very typical of the Belle Epoque/Turn of the Century. It would have been worn over a slip. Most likely purple in this case to match the belt.
