On what planet is this for the Civil War? Seriously, sellers, a little research, please?

I think this is for a young miss, and towards the start of the 1900's. The sleeves are puffy but they don't go up as you would expect with the 1890's. Instead, they are meant to hang down, more like what we see in the early 20th century. The higher in the back waist line is also common for around 1903/1904 ish.

Lovely Late Edwardian Blue Dress

Here is for your consideration a beautiful ocean blue Titanic dress. From my photos it seems to be faded in parts but it is NOT.
It is decorated on The back with sequins. Damages under arms as you can see. The silk is wonderful. It is not lined

About 1908. The higher bust line became fashionable then and stayed in fashion until about 1913. The embroidery is a left over from the Belle Epoque which was on it's way out. You can see some of the sleeker lines of the later fashion also starting show itself in this dress - with the buttons on the skirt and the cut of the skirt.

World War I Chaplain's Uniform

I purchased this uniform a number of years ago in Brainerd, Minnesota and was told it is a WW1 Chaplain's uniform. It has overall fading (less fading in the back and there is an unfaded imprint from a pair of gloves that were pinned to the front of the garment - see photos), and some stains along the hemline but otherwise this is in excellent vintage condition. It is fully lined and the lining is strong and intact. This was manufactured by the Henderson-Ames Co. of Kalamazoo, Michigan which produced military and society goods. The hat has the name W.A. Syreen stamped inside. There is a sizing label inside the coat as these were custom made. The coat has a Nehru collar and fasten with a heavy duty metal hook & eye. There are cloth buttons running down the front of the coat and on the cuffs. There are badges in the form of a cross made of metallic thread and velvet on the ends of both sleeves at the back of the wrist. The coat has a vented and pleated back along with two interior pockets. Measurements are as follows: Shoulders - 20" Sleeves - 25" (shoulder to end of sleeve) Length - 40-1/2" Chest - 40-1/2" Waist - 39" The hat has an interior circumference of 22" and aside from some fading it is in excellent condition.

Teen's Era Lace and Beaded Dress

An absolutely beautiful and elegant formal gown of the edwardian era. Gorgeous but fragile silk net lace with crystal beaded and pastel embroidery accents. The lace skirt was found separated from the bodice. This ensemble is delicate and should not be worn even after restoration because of the lace itself, which is delicate and will break. This gown must have been created for a young miss, as this is a very petite size. I am 5'-3", 87lbs and 5" wrists, very small boned, and the bodice was loose on me but my arms fit the sleeve. The over-bodice is lined with another net lace. The wrists of the sleeves has lovely crystal beaded dangles. **PLEASE NOTE: The whole bodice and sleeves DOES have separations and breaks. There are also breaks in the skirt panel. I am not able to post beyond 12 photos so please review all photos carefully. There are separations at the underarms and other areas. As found, as is.

About 1912. I bet it was taken apart a few years after it was made to be remade and just never got finished - someone else's UFO pile!!!

1780's Frock Coat

I know, not much to go off of. For a similar cut, check out the fashion plate from 1787 on Mimic of Modes.

You can see the hand stitched collar, and the piecing in the lining of this Frock Coat. It's not a riding coat but probably was some gentleman's Sunday best.

Since these two clearly go together, I didn't want to separate them.  Early 1900's based on the skirt design and the bodice shape.

As a side note - if you manage to DVR it or wake up in enough time, tomorrow at 09:00 EST, I'll be on CBS Sunday Morning.  :-)
