Pink Teen's Era Blouse

From the seller:

THIS IS A METICULOUSLY MADE SILK CHIFFON BLOUSE. THE BLOUSE IS MINT AND BETTER SEWING WILL BE HARD TO FIND . I WOULD SAY THIS FITS A 38" BUST. THE TIE CAN BE CLOSED AT FRONT OR BACK. IT RETAILED
IN STORES FOR 475.00...

From Me:

For the record, if anyone paid $475 for this, I'd wondered what they were smoking and get them to do it again so I can sell them oceanfront property in Arizona.

1914 blouses

The lady with the plaid skirt has on a blouse similar to the extant one.  This is from April 1914.  I actually think the blouse is from a little bit later (1916) based on it's length but you can see the start of the fashion here.

1890's Pink Wool and Striped Silk Bodice

From the seller:

This Victorian bodice is made from pink wool and a silk with a velvet pin stripe. It has some minor damage at the back of the neck and across the shoulders, there's a tear on the front under the lapel a tear under the arm, and tears on one shoulder. The pink has some holes on the wool on the down the front between the lapels, lining is shot, wear on top edge of collar and spots mostly on the sleeve and a few other scattered. It measures 24 inches around the waist, bust is 34 inches, across the back shoulder is 11 and it's 21 inches long from shoulder to bottom of the peplum. AS IS as is

From Me:
You know, I realized I had a lot more than I thought of this cream and grey stripy silk that I was going to make an 18th C Jacket out of. I think I've just seen what I can use the rest to make. ;-)

1890's Ball gown bodice

From the seller:

This beautiful Victorian ball gown bodice is made from a cranberry velvet and ivory silk and tulle trimmed with lace. Inside is lined with taffeta and boned, it has a beautiful flower on one sleeve. The lining is shot, underarms damaged, silk splitting, velvet pretty good but has a few tears, under the arm and over the bust. The flowers and lace good. It measures 24 inches around the waist, bust is 35 inches. as is

From Me:

1892/1893 based on the sleeve style (why did someone sew plastic flowers there?!?) and length of the bodice.

Pretty Frothy Teen's Era Summer Dress with Pink dressing robe included in the auction

From the seller:

This auction is for an unbelievable Victorian era dress and remnants of a pink silk robe or dressing gown. Both are incredibly fragile, probably more for pattern design and such than any other use. They have no odors of cigarettes or pets, both are about 50 inches long and the waist of the dress is a tiny tiny 22 inches.

From Me:

.....

1890's?

....

Really?

1914

The dress is from about 1913/1914.

1903 Norwegian fabric remade into a dress at a later date

From the seller:

Antique German style dress costume.

Antique blue polished cotton dress with fillet lace apron dated 1903. Size is medium. Bust 38", 28" waist. 42" long. 55" hips. Very full skirt. Full multi layers with gathered ruffled waistline. We have a picture from 1903 with this dress worn by Audra, heir to the Northwood Glass empire.

Storage marks and light storage stains. This is from the Harry Northwood Glass empire estate heirs.

From Me:

I wish they'd included the photo because this dress really looks way more 1930's than 1903. The apron basically says Souvenir from Molde (a city in Norway) 1903. It looks very pieced - not in a bad sense, it's cute- but like someone cut up a piece of fabric and used the pieces as trim and accents. Sort of like how we use vintage saris and dupattas now. From what I read about Molde - it was a textile hot spot in the 19th century- I really wouldn't be surprised if that is exactly what we are looking at. Someone bought a cool looking summer tablecloth, chopped it up later, and used the pieces to make a sweet little dress sometime in the 1930's. Because, honestly, this is a normal size 8 dress that would come just a little above tea length on me.

Early Edwardian Colorful Bodice

From the Seller:

Gorgeous! It has no signs of wear. There is spot on the lace at the front, and perhaps it was not worn because of that. Finest construction with boning, and interior fasteners. Floral silk body, lace at the neckline with rosebuds applied, heavy ecru lace overlay at the shoulders. Rose velvet cummerbund and loop bow. Labeled Mc Kinley, Modists, Toledo, Ohio bust - 32" waist - 22" shoulder-to-shoulder - 11 1/2" (keep in mind, the sleeves puff out) back length - 15 1/2" nape to waist neck circumference - 12 1/2"

From Me:

I'm curious if this is a young miss based on the size. The sleeves look like the kind that would be fitted at the top but puffy around the cuff - very popular around 1902/1903.
