This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Pink Teen's Era Blouse
From the seller:
THIS IS A METICULOUSLY MADE SILK CHIFFON BLOUSE. THE BLOUSE IS MINT AND BETTER SEWING WILL BE HARD TO FIND . I WOULD SAY THIS FITS A 38" BUST. THE TIE CAN BE CLOSED AT FRONT OR BACK. IT RETAILED
IN STORES FOR 475.00...
From Me:
For the record, if anyone paid $475 for this, I'd wondered what they were smoking and get them to do it again so I can sell them oceanfront property in Arizona.
The lady with the plaid skirt has on a blouse similar to the extant one. This is from April 1914. I actually think the blouse is from a little bit later (1916) based on it's length but you can see the start of the fashion here.

Hah! I see she relisted it for $30 and it sold right away. She must have had an OMG moment, what did I do last night? :D

She didn't change the description so I'm not really sure. I think she was trying to "upsell" the blouse - making it seem worth a heck of a lot more than it really is to get more money off of it.

Another way cheaper option than buying this for well nearly $500.
