Victorian Silk Dress

Up for bid is a summer dress, c1850s-1860s, in poor condition. There are many large tears and stains, only some of which are shown. The fabric and parts may be reusable.
     The changeable purple silk has undertones of green and copper. There is soutache trim on the sleeves that is coming off on both sides. Only two stays remain inside the brown buckram lining. The back closes with 21 hooks and 18 eyes (3 eyes missing).
     26" bust, 23" waist, 53" length.
