This silk dress is neatly adorned with rhinestones throughout! This dress also features a hand sewn ecru lace neckline and bow!! This dress is fully lined with a tan slip that creates the wonderful visual effects you see in the pictures! The bottom hem of this dress is also elegantly scalloped! Truly a rare relic from the roaring twenties that is in incredible vintage condition!

This dress measures 18" from side to side at the armpit and 17 1/2" side to side at the waist. The length from the back collar to bottom hem is 38" to 40" depending on where you measure to on the scalloped bottom. The bottom hem when laid out flat measures 34 1/2" from side to side.

From Me:
I think I want to remake this dress. It's so very cool looking!

Teens Era Black Silk Gown

From the seller:

You are bidding on an antique dress...very Titanic styled....

It is black with gorgeous fine netting on bodice and on overlay of black silk dress.

The silk is in surprising good condition but the fine netting around shoulders and bodice are wearing.

There is an intricate glass beaded design in the netting around the bodice which appeas to be all in tact.

On each shoulder there is a set of draping black glass beads...beautiful.... The cotton lining in bodice is very fragile.

The netting overlay on skirt is in excellent condition with about 10" of an inticate flower design all in glass beads...so breath taking...picture is lighter than the beading actually is.

From Me:

This is still up for sale if anyone would like to get it. It's at a $50 buy it now price. My guess is this is actually around 1913~1914 but it's hard to tell from the photos.

Teens Era Summer Lace Gown

From the seller:

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING:

This is a fabulous Edwardian lady's dress or gown. This gown has a lace over dress and silk under dress. Both are a soft white color. The over dress is made entirely of lace netting with embroidered work. The front center of the over dress has rows of netting with little dots flanked by inserts of embroidered net lace. The lower skirt is made up of two rows of embroidered scalloped edge ruffled netting. The entire over dress, including the sleeves, is decorated with hard, round, lace covered, heavily padded rosettes simulating flowers with petals. Short sleeves of netting with an insert of embroidered net tulle and rosettes. The backside has two tails of embroidered netting decorated with rosettes.The photos will show this off better than I can describe it. The silk under dress is sleeveless with lace along the armhole edge. There are sewn in stays to the silk under dress. Both the net lace over dress and silk under dress close on the backside with hooks and eyes and/or hooks and loops. It is in remarkable condition. Just lovely!! Please read condition and measurements below and look at all of the photos as they are part of the description.

Condition: Overall condition is fabulous. There are minimal tiny holes in the net tulle with no tears or real damage to the dress (which I find amazing). I found a repair to the front bodice lace where it meets a seam. I would redo the repair, but not bad as is. There may be a few minor seam separations where the lace meets the netting. I have looked this over as carefully as possible, so I may have missed something. There is a hole about 1/4 in. on the netting under the skirt's first layer of ruffles which cannot be seen unless you lift the ruffle. There is a repair to the bottom ruffle. Looks like there was a vertical tear and was mended. Not noticeable because there is way too much going on with this fabulous dress! This could also have been a seam in the ruffle. Sorry, ran out of photo space to show you, but not bad. The silk lining looks very good with just a few pin head size holes or smaller. There are some missing hooks and eyes on the backside. Some missing hooks or loops. Some of the petals of the rosettes have loosened and just hang. These just need to be clipped. The dress has been gently laundered and is free of stains. I have not ironed the dress. The silk under dress is wrinkled and will need ironing. Some of the photos appear to have some yellowing or is darker than in reality due to lighting when photographed. Again, poor lighting. Photo #1 is more true in color. No odor. My home is smoke-free. While I have made every attempt to disclose condition as accurately as possible I encourage you to look at all of the photos so that you can form your own opinion of condition.

Measurements:

56 in. total length, shoulder to hem;

Approximately 17 1/2 in. across the chest measured flat and closed;

Approximately 18 in. across the shoulders;

8 in. across the neckline measured flat and closed;

13 1/2 in. across the waistline area;

8 in. sleeve length measured under the arm and includes lace;

6 in. across the sleeve opening measured totally flat;

ALL MEASUREMENT ARE APPROXIMATE AND AS ACCURATE AS POSSIBLE.

On Dec-07-11 at 10:06:17 PST, seller added the following information:

I'VE BEEN ADVISED THAT THE ABOVE ITEM IS NOT "1800'S, BUT RATHER A LOVELY EXAMPLE OF THE EDWARDIAN PERIOD 1910-1914 AND ALTHOUGH THE NOTE DOES SAY WEDDING DRESS, IT PROBABLY WAS A SUMMER DRESS.

THANKS,

ELLEN

From Me:

*grins* Yes, I messaged this lady before the auction ended. This dress was just too nice for her not to have the right info and, therefore, not be able to sell it to the audience that would want it. It's probably from around the Titanic Era (ie,1912 ish).

Turn of the Century White Summer Dress

From the seller:

Exquisite antique 1800's Victorian bustle back wedding dress. This stunning piece features the most beautiful handmade lace bodice front and back along with exceptional wide puffed sleeves with lace inserts and sleeve cuffs. Tiny tucks complete the dainty look of this Victorian bridal piece. Rows and rows of tucks along the lower skirt's ruffle with matching handmade lace inserts. Much lace work went into this early wedding fashion piece. I believe the fabric is a handkerchief linen. Peplum front with tiny tucks and lace inserts. beautiful lace insert waist. There are tiny lace covered buttons up the back as well as hook & eye closure. Many gathers in the rear to accomodate your wire cage bustle or bustle back hoop skirt frame....Be sure to view the frame i have up for auction this week...I love to save my winning bidders money with combined shipping!
The following flaws are noted: Lace damage right sleeve cuff that will need repair as well as small lace breaks shoulder area. There are some small rust colored age spots lower right skirt side as well as dirt marks along the hemline from sweeping the floor. There is some fabric wear right underarm and a tear mid back lower skirt by the hooks. There is also some slight fabric wear to the right of the beautiful lace buttons. There are some other tiny lace breaks and you will see some other very light age spots, but these were difficult to photograph as they are minor. I have tried to provide magnified photos below of the flaws and hope I have captured them all in great detail for viewing. Please remember these are magnified photos...this is still an absolutely amazing bustle back bridal gown!
It measures as follows:
Bust: 30 inches
Waist: 24 inches
Hips: full bustle back
Underarm to sleeve end: 14 inches
Underarm to hemline: 52 inches
Well worth the little restoration effort needed. For avid and serious antique clothing collectors and dealers this is a must have article of antique clothing.

From Me:

There isn't a bustle back and this most certainly was not for a wedding. Rather, the style of corset that would have been worn with this dress would have forced the upper torso forward and the lower torso back, giving that S-curve. The modern equivalent of this dress would be a nice white eyelet blouse <- not something you'd wear to a wedding but certainly something you'd wear to a nice lunch.

Cutest Ante Bellum Child's Dress

From the seller:

This gorgeous antique dress is Antique Victorian era and is entirely fashioned of white colored cotton. The little girls pinafore dress has pin tucks going all across the bodice. The waist of the dress has floral embroidery going around it. It buttons and snaps in the back. Condition is good to age. The skirting of the dress has a few very tiny pinholes. The little girls pinafore dress measures 13"W shoulder to shoulder, the neckline measures 24" going around, The waist line measures 18" going around. The length of the dress measures 20"L.

From Me:
Based on the neckline, I'm guessing this is from about the 1850's.
