This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Victorian (?) Gown Bodice
From the seller:
Antique Victorian lace and silk blouse offered for display... Features a ruched watered silk body with black pleated net lace along the neckline and sleeves, and ruched net lace with alternating floral trim across the front. Finished off with silk taffeta ties along the sleeve edges. Lined with silk with closure via the original snaps. Measurements as follows:
-overall length ~17&1/2in
-width shoulder-to-shoulder ~14&1/2in
-width armpit-to-armpit ~17in
-waist ~15&1/2in
-sleeve length ~14&1/2in
In overall fair condition with the net lace being fragile with breaks which may be appreciated in the photos. The watered silk aspect of the blouse is stable and strong with a few linear breaks along the storage folds. Otherwise, no other issues noted. Please enlarge photos for details.
From Me:
I *think* this is 1890's but I'm really not sure. Anyone have a better date for it?

As it fastens up the back, I think it could be earlier. In any case, it's lovely.
