This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Black Edwardian Styled Gown
From the seller:
An elegant 1912 black velvet evening dress. The neckline is trimmed with a wide lace collar. The short cap style sleeves are made of black velvet and have in insert of white lace trimmed chiffon. The one piece dress has a long back sweep. It is lined with black silk. The dress has a back hook and eye closure. Some of the hooks and eyes are missing. The dress is in good display condition. There are no holes or splits in the black velvet. There are some small holes in the chiffon inserts and the black silk lining has overall splitting. A very pretty display dress. Bust 32 Waist 26 Front skirt length 41 Back length 52.
From Me:
This one almost strikes me as a theater dress rather than an extant dress. The back closure, especially. However, the cut and the lace are correct for about 1907 so....I'm not sure.
