This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Enhanced 1890's Bodice
From the seller:
You are bidding on an antique 19th century ladies jacket.
What is most incredible about this piece is the condition--no rips, no tears, no holes, no deterioration.
Amazing condition.
With original internal boning, brocade ruffle with yellow flowers, hook & eye closures.
26" waist and 34" bust.
From Me:
There are so many things I like about this bodice. First, that lovely bright yellow on the black background pops! Second, the singular bust enhancement that is clearly hand made and sewn. I think it's only one one side due to the ruffle on the other side making having two just not practical - or it could be that she was just bigger on one side for some reason. Anyway, a pretty cool piece!
