This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Cutest 1930's Plaid Dress
From the seller:
This is an NRA label dress which dates it from between 1933 and 1935. It has many issues and blemishes, so please see photos. Holes, heavy staining, loose snaps, and brittle patent leather bow. Belt not included. The cuffs and collar are heavily stained as well as discoloration throughout. Collar could be removed for craft purposes. Just an idea! I've really only seen dresses like this in museum quality, so it would be a great study piece, or repurposed!! The mother of pearl buttons are just the coolest detail!
Measurements taken laying flat: Double for full size in inches where appropriate.
All bust measurements taken pit to pit, and sleeve is taken from shoulder unless otherwise stated.

Condition: Poor. See photos and read all descriptions. Delicate and many blemishes. Vintage items are not meant to look new. This is the alluring quality of shopping vintage items. I will state if the item is in "like new" condition. So, keep in mind there may be signs of normal wear. Please ask if you have any questions.
From Me:
I know several of you are already drooling. Plaid and 1930's, together! Honestly, I love the details on this dress. Somehow, the collar doesn't look ridiculous with that little black bow. Everything on the dress works together well.
