1890's Blue Dress with Yellow Print

From the seller:

A beautiful antique 2 piece dress in a beautiful blue fabric with gold print. I am unsure of what the fabric is. It has a silky sheen on top, less so on the underside. It feels like some type of cotton sateen. As you can see in the pictures, there is scattered fading and discoloration. The bodice has leg of mutton sleeves, like another I've listed from this same estate. My guess is a date circa 1890. A name tag in the collar reveals a woman by the name of Wallace once owned and wore this beautiful two piece outfit. Other than the fading, scattered spotting, and a few missing or replaced buttons, it is in pretty good condition. The waist of the bodice is approx. 28". The waist of the skirt is approx. 30" The top, measures above the dart from underarm to underarm and doubled is approx 32".

From Me:

This is a lovely piece. Probably 1896 or so based on the sleeve style.

  1. What a killer print design! At first I thought it was just dots, I'm glad the seller included some close-ups.
