This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Late 18th C/early 19th C Calash Bonnet
From the seller:
This is a rare huge 18th century calash bonnet in a tan guaze like fabric and has a small bow on the back.
It is hand sewn and seems to have been a reddish color at one time.
The frame is reed and the body of the hat is in good condition - some of the seams along the back and bottom have seperation and mens (photos).
The bonnet is missing it's ties.
Measurements:
front to back..........19 1/2"
head opening around.........40"
From Me:
The overall shape suggest Regency rather than Rococo. It's very long compared to being fairly shallow but high.
