Teens Era Dress

From the seller:

This antique Edwardian Titanic era silk embroidered net wedding gown dress photo provenance lot dates from 1912. Included in the lot is an off white cream color sheer net fabric with silk raised padded satin stitch embroidery work wedding gown dress. This beautiful bridal wedding gown has a scalloped edge wrap neckline, 3/4 length sleeves, a scalloped trim peplum waist, with hook closures on the front and is sheer, unlined. The dress measures 58 inches long, with 34 inch hips, a 24 inch waist, 36 inch bust and 13 inch back. It is in as-is fair condition, has not been cleaned and has some faint age spots stains, holes on the skirt and a frayed rip under the arm (see close-ups). Included with the wedding gown are the photos of the bride Mary Ella Snyder wearing the dress, other original photos of her and her husband Robert Proudfit and her 3 daughters, along with The Wedded Life book documenting the date of their marriage September 4th, 1912 in Burgettstown, PA near Pittsburgh. This is a wonderful collection of historical provenance wedding bridal textile art!

From Me:

This isn't a wedding dress. I'm glad we have the picture because it helps to prove it isn't one. If it was, then like every single other wedding picture since the invention of the camera, the bride would have a veil and a bouquet. She has neither. Instead, it's a nice summer dress - probably about 1914 or so.
