This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. 1890's Dress with Super Cute Bow Detail at the Hem
From the seller:
An 1890’s black and white figural print silk dress that has been de-accessioned from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The bodice has a mauve satin insert that has an overlay of black lace. The lace extends over the tip of the sleeves. The bodice is trimmed with black, white and mauve beading. The waist has a mauve velvet belt. The bodice is lined with cotton and has a hook and eye closure. The skirt hemline is trimmed with large bows that are backed with mauve satin. The skirt is lined with cotton. The dress is in very good and sturdy condition. There are no splits or holes and no underarm discoloration. B 35 W 26 Skirt length 40.

I tried to search for this one but couldn't find the original museum page for it. What I love is the mauve - the new and trendy dye for the 1890s. This is a truly lovely looking dress.
