This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Aqua Blue Bathing Suit
From the seller:
This is believed to be a woman's BATHING SUIT from 1930 (it had a piece of tape that said
"SARA 1930") taped inside a strap. The label says J.C. Penney Co., ALL WOOL.
The inside shows the beautiful TURQUOISE or aqua color that exists before fading.
There is no size label, but it looks like a large size. The measurements are:
top of strap to crotch is 28"; waist is about 30"; 9" skirt. There are black and white stripes
across the front bottom skirt edge and also at the top left upper body to strap top.
There is also a decorative DIAMOND with red, white & blue yarn embellishments (above).
There are about 10 moth holes in the front & back; largest is above (about 1/4").
Otherwise, it is in very good condition for its old age!
From Me:
A little later than I normally like to post but look at these colors!
Labels:
