This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Bustle Era Gown
From the seller:
This dress belonged to Ellen Richardson who lived 1860-1918. They were handed down to her son, then to their son, (my fatherinlaw), then to my husband. We would like to see them admired, instead of sitting in an old trunk. Authentic at least 120 yr old dress..or older. pulled out of trunk. Fit a size 3-4. Kid is 12 in pic.
From Me:
I really wish the pictures were better but at least we get an idea. (I also wish that sellers would put the clothing on -oils will destroy the fabric- or put the clothing on hangers - gravity and shoulders of already weak fabric is not good- but there isn't much I can do about that other than gripe here. :-D ) My guess is 1880's.
