This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Strikingly Beautiful Blue Bodice
From the seller:
This is a great 1850- 1860's unboned bodice or jacket. It is made of a sky blue silk with piped slightly dropped shoulders. The long sleeves are slightly curved with cuffs decorated with wide pleats on the outside and pleated tulle on the inside. Both the front and back have 3 wide pleats ending with tassels all there. Closure is on the front with small hidden carved pearl buttons hidden under the middle pleat. The waist is somewhat fitted then ending with a slight flair.Inside is lined in a off white cotton with some of the basting stitches holding the pleats in place still there. Measurements are flat Chest underarms 14 3/4", Waist 11 1/4", length of sleeve from the dropped shoulder is 19 " + 1 1/2 ' of tulle. Length down front from mid shoulder is 16 1/4 ".
From Me:
I'm going with late-ish 1860's on this due to the way the back of the bodice is designed.
