This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

1870's Summer Bustle
From the seller:
A very pretty two piece 1870-1880 light weight cotton print dress. The fabric has an overall blue floral pattern on a pure white background. The hip length styles bodice has a lace hemline. The neck and armscyes are piped. The bodice is unlined and has a front button closure. The skirt is unlined and has a gently gathered bustle back. The hemline is trimmed with a ruffled edging. The dress is in very good condition. There are a couple of small pea size holes and a ½ inch repair on one sleeve near the cuff. The other sleeve has an enlargement section added that can be easily removed. This is a period alteration. There is a very light line of discoloration near the waist. A pretty display dress. Bust 36 Waist 29 Skirt length 37.
From Me:
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! If you live in one of the places that is currently colder than Mars, you might need to a bit of reminding that yes, it does get warm enough to wear this without 20 other layers and a fur hat. :-)
