This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Sweet looking 1930's Summer Dress
From the seller:
Up for auction is a lovely vintage 1930’s Cotton voile day dress with a colorful floral print against a pink background. The dress retains its original sewn in paper tag from the National Bella Hess Co. a popular mail order source of clothing at the time and is labeled as a size 16. The lower portion of the skirt is semi full and cut on the bias with 2 overlapping ruffles along the sides that add extra movement to the light sheer fabric. A long matching cloth tie is attached on the sides of the waist and tied in the back to give accent to the waist. The collar is a unique shawl design with yellow fringe in the font and a v-neck line. The collar covers the shoulders in the back and extends over the sleeveless arms to create a sort of cap sleeve. The condition is excellent with no stains and virtually no signs of wear. The only things to mention are two tiny holes below the center of the neck that I believe were made by the back pin of a brooch. The actual measurements taken with the dress lying flat are
16 ½ inches across the bottom of the armholes,
16 inches across the waist,
19 ½ across the hips.
Total length from the back of the neck to hem is approximately 48 inches.
From Me:
I want those orange thingies!!! I have no idea what they are on the sleeves of this dress but they are awesome. This dress looks perfect for drinking strawberry lemonade in!
