This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Beautiful Blue 1930's Dress
From the seller:
Antique/Vintage Georgette or Chiffon dress, that was stored with a note dated 1938 thanking the owner for the loan of the dress. The dress appears to be handmade. It is not wearable, good for study or pattern making only. The slip is silk and is fragile and shattered, the dress is faded, lighter than the jacket and has some age tanning, spots, frays, small holes, maybe a small tear or two at seams. Small size, approx measurements laying flat: high waist 14.5", arm pit to arm pit 16" and shoulder to hem 40". The dress has snaps under the ruffle collar in back which the jacket snaps onto to hold it up. A wonderful study piece! Be sure to view the many photos. Thanks for browsing!
From Me:
What a lovely dress! I'd love to make one similar for Easter.
