1930's Burgundy Dress

From the seller:

This dress is made from velvet and is in great condition, this item has some dirty issues but its not at damaging to the condition of this dress. It has lighter burgundy rope style highlights which also is in great condition. There is a large ribbon on the bottom of this dress along with a smaller one on the chest area. The buttons are still in the back and clasp is working also. The middle piece, rope like , is a belt and still has both pieces of the clasp sewn to the ends!! Wow Amazing!! It was the piece hanging in the back in the pics, that is the woven belt.

The measurements are as follows...13 shoulder to shoulder....15 to armpit to armpit and the total length on this piece is 44" long. The same person/expert at this type of item or things said this was definitely hand made from the 30's...actually said 35 or 36, very smart person in this area she is!!

From Me:
1938 Pattern
Probably 1938/1939.   The high waist with a v was something more common in the late 1930's/early 1940's.
