Sweet as Sugar Edwardian Day and Evening Bodices with Skirt












From the seller:

A beautiful 1890’s Point d’ Esprit lace wedding dress and matching evening ball gown bodice. The wedding bodice has a high neck collar and is trimmed with white satin trim. It is lined with silk and has a back hook and eye closure. The ball gown bodice has a square cut neckline and short ruffled sleeves. It is trimmed with satin It is lined with silk and has a back hook and eye closure. The skirt hemline has a long back train and is trimmed with satin. The skirt is lined with chiffon. The garments are in very good condition. The dress is for DISPLAY ONLY. There is no underarm discoloration. The silk and chiffon linings are splitting. The skirt has a couple of small holes and one 4 in. mend and one 13 inch mend on the edge of the back train. There are three 2 ½ inch drip marks on the front pf the skirt. Skirt needs a new waistband and pleats put back in place. Bust 24 Waist 23 Front length 43 Back length 59.

And the seller added more holes using the safety pins, why?

1907 Fashion Plate
The sleeves are done in the late Edwardian style.  The evening bodice sleeves are done in the same style as the middle right in the fashion plate below.
