All The Pretty Dresses

This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Early Teens Era Bathing Suit

From the seller:

I believe this swimsuit is late 1800s to early 1900s. It is tagged with a Philadelphia maker. Waist measures 34". Color is vivid Navy Blue with clear white trim.All original buttons are present. Seems to be a barely visible repair maybe back in 1911 as you might see in one of the close ups I provided. This is the only blemish I see. and is not really noticeable.

From Me:

The style, the lack of gathers around the cuffs, the sleeves, all look more Teen's Era to me.
