Late Edwardian Purple Striped Dress

From the seller:

Antique Dress 1900 Vintage Womens Purple Striped Cotton Lace S Victorian Era 34B

Wow- these antique gown are getting harder and harder to find. Beautiful example of a colored gown, this purple or lavender striped cotton dress has so many design details! The high neck with lace medallions, the lace appliqués , covered buttons, lace insets, and back buttons. It closes with hooks and eyes in the back. Even the sleeves have lots of details. It's a beauty!

Condition: overall great-fabric is not faded at all... the flaws are the front collar lace has a repairable hole. There are some small breaks in that lace here and there.The buttons are a little dark underneath the covering fabric, other than that it's a wearable antique afternoon tea or church gown.

Measurements:
Bust: 34”
Waist: 26”
Shoulders: 16”
Length - from shoulder to front hem:53”
neck-12", armholes 14", sleeve 24", hips 42"
1" = 2.54 cm

  1. So sweet! And that is a lovely sleeve cuff detail, with the tiny bobbles.

    1. The problem with this dress is that I'd be staring at my chest all day because of the pretty lace...;-)
