1840's Bodice










From the seller:

DATING TO THE LATE 1830’S TO EARLY 1840’S

FULLY SEWN BY HAND THROUGHOUT

THE BODICE IS FASHIONED OF CHANGEABLE SILK

RICH FAN PLEATING OVER THE STOMACH PANEL

RUCHED ATOP EACH SHOULDER WITH PIPED SEAMS

FULL PLEATS OVER THE BUST

HOOKS CLOSED IN THE REAR

LINEN ON THE INTERIOR

FITTED SLEEVE WITH A FITTED EPAULET ATOP, IN OPEN DIAMONDS AND TRIMMED IN SILK COVERED BUTTONS

CUFFS TURNED UP AND TRIMMED IN THE SAME BUTTONS

THE FRONT SILK HAS SEEN THE SEAM DOWN THE CENTER SLIGHTLY PULLED AWAY, THERE IS SOME SMALL YELLOWED SPOTTING SCROSS THE BACK, AN ERASER SIZED HOLE ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE ELBOW, OTHERWISE IN PRISTINE MUSEUM CONDITION

With that fan front, elongated waistline, and those completely awesome window pane sleeves, this is very much from the 1840's.
