This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

1880's Brown Bustle Dress
From the seller:
A sublime 1880’s dark bottle green satin brocade and copper satin bustle dress. The polonaise styled bodice has a long front and back drapery. The drapery is trimmed with black silk fringe. The bodice is lined with cotton and has a front button closure. The skirt front is made of copper satin and is decorated with ruching. The back of the skirt is made of bottle green satin brocade. The brocade fabric has a floral pattern. The skirt is lined with cotton. The dress is in very good and sturdy condition. The lining in the bodice is splitting but the outer fabric is sturdy. There are circles of underarm discoloration on the lining that does not show on the satin fabric. Bust 32 Waist 23 Skirt length 38.
From Me:
You know, I have some brown brocade I was thinking of making another 1510's Venetian gown out of but now I think it might go bustle....
