For my 1500th post, Simple Elegance, 1920's style

exquisite vintage 1920s robes de style silk flapper dress. chocolate brown + metallic. orange robes, atelier des modeles, 26 place vendome paris. medium weight construction. some holes in lace. pulling/tears to top of shoulders. tears to right arm drape. repairable. wearable. I thought, for this post, to pick out something I like that wasn't overly ornate but still was something jaw dropping. I think this fits the bill, don't you? And yes, it probably was originally black.

  2. This was my ancestor's company, and I've been dying to find pictures of their designs! All I have are their old clothing labels. Any chance you've seen other designs by them?
