This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. Mid 1860's Bonnet
From the seller:
DESCRIPTION:
Fragile ladies bonnet dating 1860's. Wonderful array of decorative straw work, silk lining , silk neck curtain with silk ties. As found with breaks to edge and in scattered places interior/exterior, sold as found with no reserve. For study, prototype or display only.
MEASUREMENTS:
Measures 9" front to back and stands approx. 10" high.

This is probably just the tail end of the American Civil War about 1864-1866.
