1880's Bustle Outfit

From the seller:

SILK DRESS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION...BROWN & BLUE SILK WITH BROCAID FLOWERS ON BLUE...I'M NO EXPERT SO I TOOK A LOT OF PICS TO HELP ME DESCRIBE THE DRESS...I STUFFED THE BUSTLE COMPARTMENTS WITH A LITTLE PILLOW STUFFING JUST TO SHOW THE AREA OFF...THE SKIRT MEASURES 32" FROM WAIST TO BOTTOM FRONT...THE WAIST OF THE TOP IS 24" AND THE WAIST OF THE SKIRT IS 26", MEASUREMENTS APPROXIMENT...BUTTONS ON ONE SLEEVE MISSING BUT ONE OF THE OTHER TWO BUTTONS CAN BE PUT ON OTHER SLEEVE CUFF TO MATCH IT UP...THEY ARE A BEAUTIFUL ABALONE INLAY...

From Me:

I will never understand the need to write in all caps. Anyway, mid 1880's by the look of it. Possibly as early at 1883.

  1. I love everything about this! That bodice is AMAZING! The colors and the points in the front and back and the buttons... I think I might try to make this dress if I ever get around to making a bustle dress.
