This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. Fabulous 1890's Bodice
From the seller:
DATING TO THE VICTORIAN 19TH CENTURY
IN WONDERFUL HOLIDAY COLORS OF GREEN AND RED
THE MAIN BODY OF THE BODICE IS SILK WITH A CROSS OVER ENCLOSURE OF HOOK AND EYES
LINED ON THE INSIDE IN A PRINT COTTON AND FULLY BONED
VELVET COVERS THE BODICE IN VEST STYLE WITH WOOD CENTERED DANGLE TRIMS AROUND THE FRONT AND TRAVELING DOWN THE CENTER REAR
THE SLEEVES ARE IN BIG PUFF FULLNESS AND IN A FIGURAL SILK THAT MATCHES THE FRONT BELTING
SOME DARK STAINING IS SEEN UNDER THE ARMS
WEAR TO THE HIGH POINTS OF THE VELVET WITH SOME DUST SPOTTING AND SURFACE SPOTTING SEEN ON THE SILK TO THE SLEEVES AND TO THE FRONT

My guess is about 1895/1896. However, I am in love with this bodice. This with a pair of black 1890's riding pants might be my next steampunk outfit...
