This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

1930's Bias Cut Dress
From the seller:
Incredible vintage 1920s/1930s, pale peach, sheer, silk chiffon gown.
Long, bias cut dress features a V neckline and long flowing skirt. There are plain, straight shoulder straps. Covering these straps are gathered straps which can be worn on the top of the shoulders, or beautifully draped across the top of the arms. There is a long belt, attached to the back, which ties in the front. The back is just as fabulous with a long, flowing, drape which is attached along the V-shaped seam at the low back. The gathered overstraps meet low at the center back forming a deep V to the back neckline. Even the side snap closure is beautiful!
MEASUREMENTS: Unlabeled. Please refer to the measurements below. These are of the item, not the wearer. This is a bias cut and has a little give to the fabric. Compare with a similar garment for best fit. I wear a modern size 4 and this fits me well.
•Bust: 34 inches
•Waist: 29 inches
•Hips: 37 inches
•Length, from shoulder top to hemline: 53 inches
From Me:
This is why I haven't been posting 1930's until now. It looks positively modern. You could, easily, see this cut and style in a store today. Fashion began to stop then.
