This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Edwardian Pink Ball Gown
From the seller:
This is a vintage Victorian era 1880s pink silk ball gown. It is made of pastel pink silk and white stripe floral damask brocade fabric, with ecru lace trim cuffs. The one piece ball gown has a corseted lace-up back, which is missing the lacing, short puffy sleeves, a side panel drape, bustle back long train skirt and is fully lined with stays boning inside. Great for Design!
Condition: Vintage As-is Fair Condition. Frayed Stained Underarms. Stain on Front Side Skirt Drape. Frayed Bottom Hemline Skirt. Label: None
Measurements: Front Length 50" Back Length 68" Bust 28" Waist 22"
From Me:
I know the swag over the front does look Bustle Era-ish, but the sleeves, lack of bustle, and the rest of the styling all scream 1900's.

Gorgeous!!! I want it for my next office party. Um, no, an office party when I was 25 and still had the shape and hutzpah to wear it. ;-)
