Mid 1860's Plaid Dress

From the seller:

Listed is a ladies green and brown silk dress. The dress is in overall pretty good condition for its age. There is some staining under both arms. There is somw wear to the bottom edge. I found an L shaped rip in the fabric in the bottom front of the skirt 1/2" by 1/4". It does not stand out much and could be repaired. The dress has a mixture of hand and machine sewing. I think it may have been altered or the lining replaced at a later date. There are stays in the bodice. Being that this is silk there are some very tiny brown spots on the bodice fabric. The front is fastened with hook and eyes. Overall in good condition to be used for display or even wearing if you are tiny. Size: From bottom of the armpit on front to the armpit on the other side of the front 14.5" From center back neck to center back waist is 14" From side to side on waist front is 13" From the waist to the bottom of the dress front is 41" Back is 43" Dress would be lovely for display or wear with a little cleaning. If you have any questions please ask before bidding.

From Me:

Based on the waistline, I think this is 1865/1866, putting it just after the American Civil War.
