1870's White On White Striped Dress

From theseller:

A gossamer 1870’s ivory ribbon stripe silk bustle dress. The dress has been de-accessioned from a major New York City museum collection. The cataloging tags are attached to the garment. The bodice is trimmed with silk fringe and ribbon bows. The bodice is lined with beige silk and has a front button closure. The skirt has a draped apron style front that is trimmed with silk fringe. The skirt is designed with cascading ruffles and has a long back sweep. The skirt is partly lined with heavy gauze and has ties on the inside for adjusting the bustle affect. The dress is in very good condition. There is no underarm discoloration. The bodice has a few tiny splits on the upper part of the sleeves and near the front button closure. There is some splitting on the inside silk lining. The skirt has a few small drip marks on the front and one ruffle on the back will need minor re-stitching. A stunning display dress. Bust 32 Waist 24 Front skirt length 39. Back length 55.

From Me:

This is why the white on white drapery fabric I just found last week is calling me to be made into a bustle dress I think...
