Edwardian Spring Bodice

From the seller:

I've sold many, many beautiful 18th and 19thc. gowns over the years, occasionally one come along which pushes all our buttons! (for me anyway) .
This dress likely dates to about c.1905 The last period in history before all the romance and drama of spectacular and beautiful ladies
gowns fades into the 19th Century. The bodice is in outstanding condition. If you see some pins holding it on mannequin, it is only because this
bodice is very small and even on my smallest mannequin it would,'t quite reach. The interior does show some 'sweat' on interior of collar
and cuffs. The rest is pristine ( yes even the underarms, like never worn). The bodice is nicely boned , the ribbons on cuff are very slightly
discolored on one side. The green and pink (my favorite color combo) taffeta silk ribbons are in excellent condition.
This skirt, while beautifully made is probably not original skirt. It is a heavy (crisp) chiffon, with a pure silk lining also lined on the bottom with
valenciene lace. The cartridge pleating around top shows some wear and on the front on right in the fold the chiffon has a split about six inches.
(I did this, please forgive!) The silk lining has a rose glow to it that shows through the outer shell. It is a luscious confection in person and
a truly thrilling and beautiful antique garment. I used all pictures allowed and unfortunately didn't get included the pink silk streamers tied in a big bow at waist!

Bodice / waist 18.5" Bust approx. 30 " Shoulder to wrist 16" Skirt/ 21" Waist front to floor 44" Back of train 60"

From Me:

The skirt shown isn't a skirt but a petticoat. It may or may not have been original to the outfit. The bodice, however, is lovely and is Edwardian.
