This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Late Regency Era Wedding Shoes
From the seller:
A well documented 1829 beige wool wedding shoes. The straight shoes were originally worn by Philomeia Ann Getchel on her marriage to Charles Austin Dow on Nov. 10th 1829. This information is hand written on the bottom of one shoe. The other shoe has a series of names that document to whom the shoes were pass down to in the family. The fronts are adorned with beige pleated silk ribbon. The insides are lined with linen. The shoes are in good condition. There is some light soiling and a few tiny moth nips. There is one small pea size hole on the back of one shoe. A wonderful treasure with great family history. Length 10 Width 3.
From Me:
