This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Late Teens/Early 1920's Gown
From the seller:
This is an unique Art Deco lace sheath dress and top.
It is covered in hand made lace and made of sheer cotton voile over a black silk sheath!
It is in wonderful condition and is just stunning to see. It is a small, 4-6, and it snaps closed.
The silk sash has some holes and could be replaced.
There are a few broken threads to this gossamer lace, but mostly it is in excellent condition!
You will never see another like this one;
it is museum quality!
Free shipping to the 48 contiguous states.
From Me:
The length and the construction style seem more late Teens to me. This was probably part of the transition style from the highly detailed teens outfits to the far simpler cuts and closures of the 1920's.
