This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. Late Romantic Era Dress
From the seller:
An early 1840’s pure white cotton dress. The bodice has a fan pleated front and ruching under the pleating. The shoulders are piped and ruched. The sleeves have a short cap over sleeve that is trimmed with lace. The neckline, armscyes and waist are piped. The bodice is lined with cotton and has a brass hook and eye closure. The skirt is unlined. The back waist on the skirt has been altered and modern snaps have been added in this area. The dress is in very good condition. There is no underarm discoloration and no age marks. There is a small ¼ inch mend on the skirt front. Bust 30 Waist 22 Skirt length 39.
