Late 18th Century Calash, Green





From the seller:



Exceptionally hard to find Calash, in beautiful jewel tone green. Made with bent reeds, to create a collapsible hood to protect elaborate 18thc hair. Lined with very simple cream muslin and entirely hand made. Splits along the reeds and a later ribbon in front that should probably be either removed or replaced. Beautiful construction. From Me:

I *think* this is probably 1780's but I might be off. It's not huge, like the 1770's ones are, but it has the same styling as other 18th C Calash's I've seen.
