This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

STUNNING Burgundy Bustle Era Dress
From the seller:
An exquisite 1880’s burgundy silk and burgundy satin two piece dress. The front of the bodice has pleated burgundy satin decoration. The center back peplum has long tails that are trimmed with silk bows. The bodice is lined with cotton and has a front button closure. The skirt is elaborately designed with draped panels. The bottom of the skirt has bands of pleating and rushing using the burgundy satin fabric. The skirt has a bustled back. The skirt is fully lined with cotton. The dress is in very good condition. There is a slight mark of underarm discoloration on the inside lining only and a small amount of fraying on the inside seam on the sleeves. There is some fraying on the back waistband of the skirt and one 1 inch split on the back bustle area that is hidden in the folds. The age flaws are very minor. Bust 32 Waist 24 Skirt length 40.
