This is a place for any extant garments in private collections from about 1941 back. There is no beginning date. The only rule is that it can't be currently in a museum and must be before the bombing of Pearl Harbor. I mostly post items I've seen on ebay, etsy, or other auction sites so we will continue to have a record of them for research purposes. If you have antique clothing in your collection, please, email me pictures of them and I will gladly add them to this site.

Teens Era Summer Dress
From the seller:
This 1910s dress is likely from about 1913. It is made of a light weight, sheer cotton fabric and embellished with lace and pintucks. The lace panels are a gorgeous woven fabric that is "lacy", not lace. There are hooks and eyes for closure in the back. I added a blue ribbon sash for you to see how it was probably styled in it's day. I just love the details on this dress! It could be used as a wedding dress if you were looking for something very unique.
It's very beautiful and delicate, but there are some condition issues due to age - I have pictured the most obvious flaws. There are a few holes, mostly corresponding to brown spots. Its a little bit yellowed and you can see some evidence of that in the picture of the back of the dress. It's not bad, though, and does not detract from the beauty of the dress in my opinion. I am happy to send more pics if you like.
It's a rare piece of history I'm sure you'd be proud to own. It's wearable but you must be careful when putting it on an taking it off because the fabric is delicate and could tear easily.
